The design process for a TV series costume designer is an ongoing and evolving task, driven by the narrative and character developments of the show. The goal is to create costumes that not only reflect the characters but also enhance the storytelling and overall visual impact of the series.
Hidden Assets season 2 saw the return of the Criminal Assets Bureau Team. I established their character costume looks in season 1, but as with all a TV series, it’s important to consider the arc of the characters. In this case, it involved updating costumes to reflect changes in their line of duty.
Preparation is key, for a fast moving series, I meticulously plot story day changes in advance and keeps detailed records of each character’s costume, including photographs and notes, to ensure consistency in the characters’ looks across different scenes and episodes.
